I am curious as to royalty payments. I thought with directional / horizontal drilling a total of 640 acres ( 1 Sq. mile) were needed per well. However with the Congilio well East twp. only 12 people are being paid royalities, for an approximate total of 134 acres. According to ODNR's web site the total direction was near 1 mile in length. Any ideas???
Not quite sure what all issues are included in the lawsuit. But if they are just complaining about not getting as much money as the guy down the road from them, cause he held off and signed at a later date and got more money, then I say that's just the gamble and game we play. It's like getting gas in Carrollton for $3.85 a gallon and then driving through Malvern and Waynesburg and seeing it for $3.50 and $3.45 a gallon. It's all a $$$ game.

I am one of the 95 landowners from carroll and columbiana counties. Before sometime in 2010 there was in paragraph 14 the right to get a third pary offer. That offer was to be forwarded to Anschutz now Chesapeak. Then they had 30 days to match the offer or loose the lease. Yestarday 5/1, I received the court memorandum. Once you get through all the legal stuff, it appears the only thing Chesapeak says is they want the wording of the contract changed (which is illegal). The third party is Torchlight Energy. So it looks like we will win. Just have to wait for it to go before the judge.
